Grover feels like a failure because he can't think of the perfect present to give his mother on Mother's Day. What he doesn't realize is that he's already given her the best present: himself!

(synopsis from Goodreads)

This is an okay picture book that sort of gives kids an excuse not to give their mom a Mother's Day gift. ("I'm your gift!" they'll shout. I don't know how well that's going to go over...)

Happy Mother's Day! isn't a terrible book, although I do find it a bit creepy to see Grover wearing clothes. It's just... wrong. A cape when he's Super Grover, fine. But seeing him walk around in overalls almost makes me shudder. It's like seeing a goldfish wearing a diaper or something. It's unnecessary and just plain weird.
