Fancy Nancy's little sister JoJo returns in her very own adventure! JoJo and Daddy are busy baking a cake. They've mixed the batter, put the cake in the oven, and frosted it--but who is the cake for? Shh... it's a surprise!

(synopsis from Goodreads)

This story starring Nancy Clancy's little sister is simple and sweet... just like the cake she bakes with Daddy!

JoJo and Daddy work together to bake a cake. Daddy turns out to be a very good helper. But as each member of her family (and her friend Freddy) asks her who the cake is for, she won't tell. She zips her lips. Soon, she has lots of helpers: Daddy, Mommy, Freddy, and Nancy. But the recipient of the cake is still a mystery. Who could it be for? JoJo finally confides in Nancy, who helps her put the perfect finishing touch on the cake.

There's something about these books that's just so comforting. The stories are simple, but the relationships and situations are heartwarming. They may be for younger readers than the rest of the Fancy Nancy books, but I still find them enjoyable to read (and they'd probably be great fun to read aloud to kids).

Do you want to find out who the cake is for? You can probably guess... but it's still worth taking a look at this cute little story.

    1. The JoJo books are so cute. I wish they (and the Fancy Nancy series) had been around when I was little!
