Carrie
by Stephen King
The story of misfit high-school girl, Carrie White, who gradually discovers that she has telekinetic powers. Repressed by a domineering, ultra-religious mother and tormented by her peers at school, her efforts to fit in lead to a dramatic confrontation during the senior prom.
What's new to your TBR pile this week? Let me know in the comments!
I HAVE NEVER EVER READ A STEPHAN KING BOOK. Eep. Hehe. I probably shouldn't be shouting, but still! I call myself a bookworm and I haven't read a King book?! GAh. Need to fix this. I hope Carrie is excellent and, I'm sure, satisfyingly creepy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one! I have read his non-fiction book, On Writing (which is excellent), and a couple of his short stories, but never one of his novels. I know my sister has read a bunch of them... but I never thought they were my thing. Carrie is actually pretty good so far... though I haven't gotten to the really scary parts yet.
DeleteOh I have not read his books. I've seen movies, but not read them. I'm kinda a chicken that way. lol. Do enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI've only seen a few of his movies (including the original Carrie from the '70s). I haven't found any of them particularly scary, but then, I don't think I've watched any of the really scary ones (like The Shining).
