Dinosaurs Love Underpants meets Walter the Farting Dog, Everyone Poops, and Mel Brooks’s movies in the latest Dinosaur That Pooped story by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter of the English pop punk group McFly.

When Danny and Dinosaur accidentally go back through history on a time-travelling swing, they zoom right past the Romans, Egyptians, and Greeks to the Jurassic Era, where they meet some new dino friends. But soon there’s a rumbling noise…a volcano is about to erupt! Can Dinosaur save the day by pooping them back to the future?

(synopsis from Goodreads)

Well, that novelty wore off fast. I can't say that I found this one quite as funny as the previous pooping dinosaur book. (Perhaps the surprise factor played an important role. I was expecting a bowel explosion here, so it didn't catch me off guard.)

In this book, Danny and his friend go back in time on his grandmother's backyard swing (which is kind of neat, as far as time machines go). But the swing breaks after they go back millions of years, and even though a trio of cute little dinosaurs help them fix the swing, Dino is far too heavy to get any swinging motion going.

Then he gets the idea to poop...

This time we get a poop pyramid in ancient Egypt, and everyone makes it back to the present safely... just in time for more of Gran's awful cooking. (Everything she makes is green and/or highly sulfurous; who makes a cake out of Brussels sprouts and broccoli, anyway?)

Kids who like the other books in the series will probably enjoy this one as well. But I think I've now had enough dinosaur poop to last a lifetime!
