Saturday Steals (1)
It seems that a lot of the books I've bought lately have been steals. None of the really spectacular deals I've gotten have been in the past week (like the 30-dollar hardcover I once got for 60 cents... best deal ever!). But I did go to the bookstore this week and I found one book in the sale section that looked good (it was buy 2 get 1 free, but I tried to show a little restraint). I got:
Voices
by Ursula K. Le Guin
Hardcover
List price: $22.95. I paid: $4.31.
Yeah... I'd say that's a steal!
(I found out later that it's the second book in a series, but apparently this book can stand on its own. The premise looks really interesting. I can't wait to read it!)

Thanks for joining in the fun of Saturday Steals. This is the first week I've started it, so I hope to see you come back every week with lots of great deals!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that book sounds like a steal indeed. Lucky you! : )
OMG, awesome! I've been wanting to read this series ever since I watched The Jane Austen Book Club where Hugh Dancy raves about Ursula LeGuin's novels. I'm totally jealous that you found it for such a great price!! :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm a believer in buying 2nd books in a series when I find them on sale, and then holding on to them until I find the first ones on sale, because it seems inevitable that as soon as I pass up book 2 for cheap, I find book 1 for cheaper, and then end up paying full price for book 2. (Um, Gallagher Girls anyone?) I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say about this!
Oh, I might have to get it too; I saw it often at the store downtown on sale, and have been curious about it. I had no idea it was book 2 in a series though!
